Starlet Stick Foundation Review Shade Natural Ivory

Today I am reviewing the Starlet brand foundation stick in Natural Ivory this product can be found at Kmart and Coles instore for the RRP of $7.

My Impressions.

It is a generous size at 15g and you get a decent amount of product. As you can see from my swatch of the product to colour is slightly darker than my fair skin tone but blends out quite well and easily. I have worn this product all day with the Starlet powder and it stays put for the most part. It is definitely a full cover foundation. Other colours available are Natural Tan, Natural Beige and Natural Honey.

According to the package instructions you can use your fingertips to blend (which I did) or use a sponge. It also states that you can apply this foundation to your eye lids and lips to provide a base for eye shadow and lipstick. Warning: Although I have done this and it does make for a good base for eye shadow, if you have sensitive skin like me you may have a reaction. This product does contain a SPF 15 sunscreen so that may be the cause of the skin irritation.

Conclusion.

For the price I think it is quite decent and affordable. It is much better than the OXX foundation stick which I also reviewed.

Maybelline Color Show Lip Gloss Review Shade White Glitz

Today I will be reviewing Maybelline Color Show Lip Gloss Review Shade White Glitz available from Priceline online for RRP $9.95.

My impressions of the product.

The tube is a white colour and when I opened the product it had an aroma which I cannot identify - it is not unpleasant. It is not quite visible in the swatch but the lip gloss comes out quite a pale or clear with a slight shimmer.

When applied to the lips, unlike the Pretty Pink gloss which I also reviewed, this one comes out with no detectable colour but adding quite a lot of sparkle. As with the Pretty Pink shade, It feels nice on the lips and not gritty or gluey.

Conclusion.

This shade is a nice lip gloss and that would enhance a party look.

Maybelline Color Show Lip Gloss Review Shade Pretty Pink

Today I will be reviewing Maybelline Color Show Lip Gloss in the shade pretty pink which is available from Priceline online for RRP $9.95 5ml.

My impressions of the product.

The tube is a pretty pink colour and when I opened the product it had a fruity strawberry aroma. It is not quite visible in the swatch but the lip gloss comes out quite a pale pink and has a slight shimmer as if glitter has been suspended in the liquid.

As you can see below when applied to the lips the gloss comes out with not a lot of colour but adding more of a shimmer to your natural lip colour. It feels nice on the lips and not gritty or gluey.

Conclusion.

A nice lip gloss that would enhance a natural look or no-make up look.

All opinions stated are my own and I have no affiliation with any products mentioned. All products are purchased with my own money. All pictures are my own taken by me.

OXX Foundation Stick Review Shade Medium

Hi All,

Today I will be reviewing the OXX Foundation Stick in the shade Medium. This product is available from Kmart in store only and I purchased it for $2 - that's right $2! Is it any good? We'll see.

My Impressions.

The package states: Flawlessly cover spots, blemishes or uneven skin tone with this blendable OXX foundation stick. It is a small foundation stick compared to others that I have owned, for some reason for net gram of the product is not on the label. I wouldn't expect it to last too long if you used it everyday as a full face coverage foundation.

The reason I bought this product was not for a foundation but to use as a contouring stick. That is why I purchased a shade darker, medium. I would usually get ivory or light to use as a foundation as I have fair skin.

When I tested the product on my hand I found that the coverage came out quite thin on the first swipe so I had to go over the same spot a few times to build up coverage. As you can see in the picture, the foundation stick does give a fair amount of coverage when you build a few layers. However, unlike what the packaging states I find that it does not blend well.

You can see below one swipe of the product and then three layers.

The next picture is when I tried to blend the foundation with my fingers - I find it does not blend or spread well.

When it comes to removing the product - it was difficult! I just used soap and water and it did leave a bit of a red mark, although that could just be from me rubbing because it wouldn't come off. This staying power could be a plus or minus depending the intended use of the product e.g foundation, concealer, or blemish cover.

Conclusion.

For the price? What can you say. The stick gives what I would consider full coverage but I doubt it would last very long with such a small tube and I personally would be unlikely to use it as a foundation as the blending ability is so-so. I will do another review when I try it out as a contour stick.

Model Co Self-Tan Lotion Review Shade Medium

Hello Everyone,

My name is CJ and I am starting a blog reviewing Everyday Beauty Products that are affordable and accessible.

For my first review I'd like to start with Model Co Instant Tan Self-Tan Lotion which I picked up from Coles Supermarket for the reasonable cost of $3.75 on special in the shade Medium. The RRP of this product is $16 on the Model Co website - I snagged a bargain!

The front of the tube states that this Self-Tan is a quick drying instant bronzing & streak-free formula. This tube is 170ml/5.74fl oz enriched with Argan Oil, Vitamin E, Aloe Vera extract, Cocoa Butter, Coconut Oil and Shea Butter.

My impressions of the product.

The pink squeeze tube is a handy size and fits nicely in the palm for an easy grip. The product has a recognisable coconut scent and the smell is not over-powering or chemical.

I have never self-tanned before so I am conducting a small patch test on my inner left arm to test the colour and to double check if there is any allergic reaction. I have very fair skin, so this colour may be too dark. Of course, you may be wanting to go for a darker look if you are really fair like me.

The instructions on the back of the tube state:

Apply liberally, gently smoothing onto skin. Use sparingly on elbows, knees and ankles. Avoid contact with clothes until fully absorbed. For an even, streak-free finish and to protect the palms from tell-tale tanning discolouration, use ModelCo BLEND BUFFING MITT.

Since I don't have the Buffing Mitt, I will just use some disposable gloves to apply the product to my arm: Here we go...

Wow! A small amount of the product approx: a 5 cent piece was enough to cover my entire left inner forearm and created a nice medium glow. You can see in the pictures my left inner arm is much darker but no too dark with this small amount compared to my untreated right inner arm. On the tube it says that the tan will develop more over 6-8 hours - we'll see what happens.

Until then, some further impressions. I was surprised at how easily the product applied to the skin - exactly as the packaging said - non-greasy, glides on and it is a light-weight formula. It was also touch dry withing a short period of time.

Overall, I really like this product and would recommend it based on my current impressions. More to come.
